SFMC - Using the integration with Approvals enabled

The integration provides a slightly different process if you have approvals enabled in your Salesforce Marketing Cloud account

Updated over a week ago

When Approvals are enabled on either Classic Content or Content Builder, the subject line of the content becomes locked once it is approved. As our integration needs to update the subject line, we have provided an alternative process that allows you to include an AMPscript subject line when the content is being approved that will allow the integration to function normally.

The AMPscript subject line that is included in your approvals process is designed to randomize the subject lines on the split test user-initiated email and then pick the winner based on highest open rate for the final user-initiated email after your specified wait time.

Speak to your Customer Success Manager about having this feature enabled on your project.

How to set up an experiment with Approved content

  • Setup a new experiment, generate and approve language as per your normal process.

  • On the final step, you will have the option to view and copy the pre-formatted AMPscript subject line. Note: When copying, it's important to copy the AMPscript exactly. Phrasee builds the remaining assets when you schedule and these need to match what is in the AMPscript for the process to run. Phrasee will throw an error if the AMPscript doesn't match.

  • Include the pre-formatted AMPscript in your content approval process.

  • Build a user-initiated email using the approved content.

  • Schedule the experiment from Phrasee.
