ACC - Broadcast dynamic optimization - Getting started

Learn how to set up the broadcast dynamic optimization integration for Adobe Campaign Classic

Updated over a week ago

Follow the steps below and you'll be dynamically optimizing away with broadcast experiments in no time.

If you're using broadcast straight split testing for Adobe, you want this getting started article. ๐Ÿ‘ˆ Otherwise, please proceed!

Set-up requests

The first thing you need to do is request two things from your Phrasee Customer Success Manager:

  • A package of the broadcast dynamic optimization Adobe workflow snippet

  • A Phrasee Connect Server access token for your Phrasee account

And as for Adobe:

  • Add https://connect.phrasee.co to your Adobe serverconf.xml as an authorized address. This can be done here https://experience.adobe.com/#/controlpanel by your administrator or by creating a support request.

  • For every experiment you want to deploy using Broadcast Dynamic Optimization, include the Phrasee open tracking pixel in your email templates. You should be able to see the tracking pixel format in the description of the workflow, or you can request it from us at Phrasee.

Purpose of the package

The workflow package contains the base workflow template for a broadcast dynamic optimization experiment. Think of this entire snippet as a Phrasee split test delivery activity. You'll use it in place of your regular delivery activity in workflows where you want to use Phrasee-optimized language.

You can find details about each step of the workflow here. Note: You must be logged into Phrasee to view this article.

Preparing the snippet

In order to get up and running smoothly, it's a good idea to request a technical onboarding and demonstration of the workflow from your Phrasee Customer Success Manager.

Begin by importing the workflow snippet package. Put it someplace safe where you can find it easily within your folder architecture.

Once you have the workflow snippet imported, open it up and double-click on the Campaign settings activity.

Replace the string of Xs on line 7 with the Phrasee Token you got from your Customer Success Manager.

Excellent work! Now, you're ready to proceed to campaign configuration. Please review our testing considerations below before you attempt a live campaign send.

Testing considerations

Our Adobe workflow snippet is provided as a starting point for maximizing the effectiveness of broadcast dynamic optimization. This starting point will allow you to automagically apply dynamic optimization to any Adobe campaigns you want to optimize with Phrasee language.

You will need to incorporate the workflow snippet into your existing workflow where you would usually have your email delivery activity. The base workflow snippet is provided for you to use as is or change to suit your needs.

We recommend you conduct several tests of the workflow's implementation in your own Adobe account before attempting a live send, as we can't account for all of the possible configurations available in Adobe.

Once incorporated, the workflow will manage the entire process of dynamically testing and adjusting the proportions in real time to maximize the number of recipients who will experience the best-performing variant.
