Setting up API Access

Updated over a week ago

In order to use Phrasee's Adobe Target integration, we'll need the creation of an API Project with appropriate access for Phrasee. This will require someone with Administrator access to create.

For additional help, this Adobe article outlines the steps to create a new API Project linked to your Target instance: https://experienceleague.adobe.com/docs/target-learn/tutorials/apis/configure-io-target-integration.html?lang=en

Create an Adobe I/O project

The Adobe Developer Console is used to create an API project for Adobe Target. For more information, reference the documentation on projects.

  1. In the Adobe Admin Console, ensure your Adobe user account has been granted both Product Admin and Developer level access to Target.

  2. In the Adobe Developer Console, select the Experience Cloud Organization for which you want to create this integration. (Note it is likely you may only have access to a single Experience Cloud Organization.)

  3. Click Create new project.

  4. Click Add API to add a REST API to your project to access Adobe services and products.

    Add API

  5. Select Adobe Target as the Adobe service you wish to integrate with. Click the Next button that appears.

    configure-io-target-createproject5

  6. Select Option 1: Generate a key pair and click Generate keypair.

    configure-io-target-createproject6

  7. Make note of the automatically downloaded configuration file (config), which contains your private key. Phrasee will need this key to setup the connection. Below is an example partially shaded out of a Private Key file:

  8. Click Next.

    configure-io-target-createproject7

  9. Select the product profile(s) corresponding to the properties in which you are using Target. (If you are not using properties, select the Default Workspace option.) Click Save configured API.

  10. Tada! API Project is complete. We recommend renaming your project to a name more meaningful than the original Project # . To do this, navigate to the project using the navigation path as shown, click Edit project to access the **Edit Project modal, and rename the project. We recommend naming it Phrasee API Project.

  11. Phrasee will require the Credentials details found by clicking on 'Service Account (JWT).

  12. Please provide the following credentials to your CSM in a secure file transfer:

    1. Your Adobe Target Tenant name - can be found in the URL upon logging into AEC. For example: https://experience.adobe.com/#/@phraseeexchange

    2. Your Client ID and Client Secret - available on the page you just navigated to:

    3. Your JWT Payload - you can this find by navigating to the 'Generate JWT' token tab as shown below and clicking 'Copy'.

    4. Private Key (from step 7)

    5. Account Default Timezone - Phrasee will use this timezone to save the Date/Time settings in within our application when pulling results for your Activity. This will have no impact of scheduling your tests in Adobe Target.
