How to create and send a trigger or lifecycle campaign

Updated over a week ago

Epsilon x Phrasee React

Getting Started

If this is your first integration with Phrasee x Epsilon, you’ll need an API User configured within your Epsilon account. Details can be found here: Epsilon - Getting Started.

Setting up a campaign

The Phrasee React x Epsilon integration will require the following assets to be created:

Epsilon Sequence Creation

To get started, you'll need to set up an Epsilon Sequence. The Epsilon Sequence feature lets you automate various recurring tasks, such as updating profile tables from lists.

1. First, within the Properties section, be sure to tag the Sequence ‘phrasee’ and add react.epsilon@phraseeservices.co within the Users to Notify on Success field.

2. Next, navigate to 'Design.' Within the sequence, you’ll need to add an 'Import to List' node.

The Import to List node uploads a file from the file server SFTP site and adds to or updates the subscriber records in the selected list. This selected list (example pointed to below) will be used later in the process as the audience for your email trigger campaign.

Example sequence:

3. Finally, set the schedule of your sequence (example below):

The successful completion of this sequence will trigger an email to Phrasee. Phrasee will then push the latest variant batch percentages to your email campaign described in the next steps.

Epsilon Email Campaign Creation

Next, you’ll create an Epsilon email campaign. This email will be what is sent and optimized for each batch run.

4. First, configure the properties for your email campaign.

You will need to add the tag phrasee’ (as seen below) in order to see your Epsilon campaign within the Phrasee interface.

5. Next, configure your audience for the send. This will be the list you linked to update within your sequence from Step 2.

6. Configure the content of your email body and save your draft campaign.

Phrasee Triggered Message Experiment Creation & Configuration

The final steps for setting up your campaign happen in the Phrasee platform, with some final checks in your Epsilon account.

7. To finalize the setup, create your Phrasee triggered message experiment as you normally would within the Phrasee platform.

Once you have approved your language variants, click on the integration icon to view the Epsilon Phrasee React integration drawer.

8. In the drawer, select the following:

  • Your Epsilon business unit and folder that contains both your campaign and sequence.

  • Your Epsilon campaign created in the previous step.

  • Your Epsilon sequence created in the previous step.

  • How frequently the campaign will be run (Daily, Weekly, Monthly).

  • Start Schedule - when you plan the first sequence to run and trigger the first email to your audience.

  • End Schedule - the date Phrasee should stop optimizing and sending your trigger email campaign.

9. Once selected, click ‘Start the Awesome.’

The Phrasee variants and initial percentages will be pushed into your Epsilon email campaign.

10. Navigate to your Epsilon account to review your variants as required.

11. When ready, ‘Approve’ the email campaign in Epsilon. This approval is necessary for Phrasee to automatically schedule the emails moving forward.

And that's it! Phrasee has it from here. As your sequence runs on the selected cadence, Phrasee will pull results and optimize the percentage each variant receives for each send.
