Creating API tokens
Updated over a week ago

This quick help article will show you how to create API tokens. These can be used to authenticate to the API with the Authorization: Bearer (token) header.

You can create this yourself in the Phrasee platform as long as you have admin access. If you are not a Phrasee admin, please request that your admin follow the steps below.

1. Navigate to the API Tokens area

Click Admin in the top navigation bar and then Settings from the dropdown menu.

In the upper-right corner of the Account settings screen, click on API Tokens.

2. Create your token

Click + New token.

Give your token a descriptive name and then click Generate.

3. Store your token somewhere secure for your team's use

You'll need to use this token wherever indicated for your integration to function properly. Ensure that when sharing this token with your team you do so in a secure manner.

An admin can return to this screen at any time and copy the token by clicking the copy icon in the Token field.

4. Take note of your token's expiration date

Ensure when you share this token with your team that everyone clearly notes and remembers the token's expiration date. Tokens are valid for two years from the date of their creation.

Once your token expires, you'll need to follow these steps again to create a new token for your team to use.

If your token's security is ever compromised, please delete the token by clicking the trash can icon next to it.

Then, click Yes, delete it!

You may then create a new token following the steps above.
