Emarsys - Create a Phrasee campaign

So, you’ve decided to integrate Phrasee’s awesome language optimization tech with Emarsys… Excellent choice!

Updated over a week ago

Note: Before creating your first campaign with Phrasee and Emarsys, please review our known issues article.

The Phrasee integration with Emarsys is primarily a tool that creates versions of an email campaign with the subject lines generated in Phrasee and gets the results of the campaign once the split tests and winning send have been completed. The rest of the email campaign setup and scheduling will all be done in the normal way from within Emarsys.

Start by creating your initial email in Emarsys as normal.

You can select either Custom HTML Email or Block-Based Email type. The choice is yours! This example uses the Block-Based Email.

Click on the Create Campaign button displayed in the template you want to use for this email.

Complete the Email Settings for your email. Ensure you select your Recipient source, List, Language and Email name. Once you have completed and saved your settings, you are ready to move to content creation.

Complete the Content Creation section in the Emarsys workflow. Enter the human control subject line here that you will use within your Phrasee experiment.

Congratulations! You’ve now completed and saved your Email Settings and Content Creation! Now, it’s time to switch to Phrasee to generate your awesome subject lines.

Now create a campaign in Phrasee

Setup your Phrasee experiment as you normally would. Once you have approved your variants, you’ll be taken to the summary page.

Click on the Emarsys Integration button.

Next, simply select the email you have created in Emarsys for this particular send.

Push to Emarsys

Clicking the Create Test Versions button will automatically create all your split test emails in Emarsys, replacing just the subject line for each.

You will see a success notification once your split test-ready emails have been created.

Nice work! You have now completed your experiment setup in Phrasee. It’s time to return to Emarsys to schedule your split test and final send emails.

Now, back to Emarsys for scheduling

Once you’ve switched back to Emarsys, you’ll see the versions of your email created by Phrasee. They look good, don’t they?

Perform your normal checks in the Emarsys Deliverability Advisor—because deliverability matters!

Time to finalize your send schedule

Phrasee recommends four hours for each experiment, so if your normal send time is 10 a.m. then you should schedule the split tests to begin at 6 a.m.

The process for scheduling your split tests in Emarsys needs to be repeated for each version of your email. Phrasee recommends a percentage of audience to be used within your test. You can use this percentage to determine what percent each variant should be allocated while scheduling.

Scheduling final send

Once you have scheduled the split tests, you’re ready to set up your final send. To do this, select the Final sending option. When you select to automatically send the final version, you’ll be presented with options of metrics for Emarsys to use when determining your winning subject line. Phrasee recommends using the best open rate. Once you’ve chosen your metric, click Launch Later and set the date and time for your final send.

Once you have completed the scheduling, you should have a scheduled email for each split test version, as well as your final send.

Save your Schedule Details in Phrasee

Once you have finalized your schedule in Emarsys, you are ready to save it in Phrasee.

Back in the Phrasee Integration Drawer, match the dates and times your split test starts and ends. Phrasee will get the results of your split test at the designated end date/time. Lastly, enter the date/time you want Phrasee to retrieve the results of the final winning send. Click Save.

That’s it! Your experiment setup is complete. Phrasee will take it from here, and you will see the results of your experiment when they are ready!
