Tone of Voice

Learn how to sample your existing brand language to create your Tone of Voice

Updated over a week ago

The Tone of Voice feature automatically analyzes a sample of your brand’s language and establishes a set of up to five tones it will use when generating content.

Click Tone of Voice in the upper-right corner of the Brand Voice window.

Sampling your language

To create a tone profile, enter a sample of your content you feel encapsulates the tones and feelings you’re looking for Phrasee to generate in this Brand Voice. This should be a fairly large sample, but it doesn’t need to be from one source. The important thing is that it reflects the tones you want to achieve.

Phrasee will require a minimum of 500 characters but can accept up to a maximum of 5,000 characters.

Paste your content in the Example content text field.

With your content pasted, click Generate Tone.

Editing tones

Once Phrasee has analyzed your tone, you'll see a page display with the five tones Phrasee has identified to include in your Tone of Voice.

Each tone will have a description and an example of the type of language associated with that tone.

You can choose to edit the tones available for Phrasee to use in your Tone of Voice. If some of the tones described aren’t what you want or if you’d like to select your own, you can browse through the entire library of predefined tones and select up to five to use.

Click Remove next to the tones you wish to exclude and Add next to the tones you'd like to include.

Click Save in the bottom-right corner when you're finished.

If you want to enter a different sample of copy for Phrasee to analyze, you can click Re-generate brand voice and you'll be taken back to the first step.
